I've decided to try to be more active on some of my sites, including DA.  So for the first time in forever and a half I decided to browse through Traditional Art and Photography in hopes of finding new pieces to add to my favorites and new artists to follow.  And I have to say, I'm incredibly disappointed with what I found while browsing.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not here to go off on some rant about how everyone's art sucks and blah blah blah.  It's nothing of that sort.  What I'm disappointed with is the sort of things I saw being submitted.

Rather than spending my time looking through art and enjoying myself like I had planned, I spent most of my time sifting through low quality cell phone/mirror Myspace photos, bad manipulations of photos of celebrities (Seriously, what is up with all these gag manips?), and reporting images that were either taken straight off the internet or violated DA's policies...

Did I miss something while I was gone from this site?  This is still an art site right?  It's not photobucket 2.0 right?  Did I just pick a bad day to browse, or is this really what gets submitted on this site nowadays?
